Roaming Monsters are a type of Monster in Knighthood. Defeating them gives XP and Roaming Monster Chests. They are targets for the Bounty Board and spawn at varying times throughout all regions, as well as in fortified nodes of Guild Wars. There are currently 50 different Roaming Monsters and 7 Event Roaming Monsters.

Table of Roaming Monsters

Battle

A roaming monster battle consists of 2 rounds. Each Roaming Monster is accompanied with Side Monsters. The first round will contain Side Monsters, while the second round will house the Roaming Monster and remaining Side Monsters. All monsters, not just the Roaming Monster, must be defeated to complete the battle.

Types

There are three main types of Roaming Monsters: Standard, Elite and Boss. For Realm of Fire, bosses are split up into Standard and Elite bosses.

Roaming Monsters' spawn times are in local time (the player's time zone).

Standard

Standard roaming monsters spawn every 30 minutes. They appear for 20 minutes.

Elite

Roaming elites spawn every 6 hours (but skips 02:10) and appear for 30 minutes. They give more XP than standard roamers.

Boss

Roaming bosses spawn at a set time and appear for 10 hours. They give the most XP.

Event Roaming Monsters

Event Roaming Monsters only appear during Special Events. They spawn in the player's most recently unlocked region and the previous region (except Astellan), provided the player has completed the appropriate Conquest for that region:

Standard

At the start of each Event, a specific Roaming Monster will start spawning at 00:00 and every 2 hours afterwards, and remain in the world for 45 minutes. They reward Event Points based which region they are encountered in.

Highgard 20 200
Mirefen 44 240
White Peak 70 280
Realm of Fire 100 320
Karnheim 160 480

Boss

Halfway through the Event, the Portal Boss will start to spawn as a Roaming Monster. They spawn every day at 11:00 and 17:00, and remain in the world for 45 minutes. They reward Event Points based on which region they are encountered in.

Monsters

Stamina Cost & Rewards

Region Stamina Event Points
Highgard 30 400
Mirefen 66 480
White Peak 105 560

The Lost Knight

The Lost Knight only starts to spawn after the player has obtained the maximum number of Event Points on the track and completed the "The End! Or Is It?" Side Story. He spawns every day at 17:00 and remains in the world for 10 hours. He always rewards an Event Chest upon defeat.

Bonus Objectives

Three bonus objectives are assigned to a roaming battle. Each objective rewards the Knight with an item, such as battle boosts, gold, tomes and gauntlet cores. Completing all three during the course of the battle will reward an additional item, which can include gems, hero scrolls, chests and forging ores.

Possible objectives are:

  • Defeat the Roaming Monster with the [specified] Gauntlet equipped.
  • Defeat the Roaming Monster with a [specified alignment] hero equipped.
  • Defeat the Roaming Monster with a strong vs. [enemy type] hero equipped.
  • Defeat the Roaming Enemy with a sword/axe/hammer. Note: Weapon only has to be equipped, not used at final blow.
  • Defeat the Roaming Enemy with a strong vs. [enemy type] weapon.
  • Wear at least 1 piece of light/heavy/magical/ranged armor.
  • Kill 1 enemy with a strong vs. [enemy type] hero's Base/Rage Power.
  • Kill 1 enemy with a [specified alignment] hero's Base/Rage Power.
  • Kill 1 enemy with a hunter/warrior/rogue/mage/alchemist's Base/Rage Power.
  • Kill 1 enemy with a punch from a [specified] Gauntlet.
  • Regain health during the battle. Note: The Knight can still "regain health" with a Power when at full health.

Event roaming monsters may provide objectives to defeat them with a event-exclusive weapon, equip a specific event hero or wear at least a certain amount of event-exclusive armor pieces.
