Onslaught Dungeon Dark Onslaught

Onslaught Dungeon Go To.png

At Demon's Descent in Mirefen Icon Small.png Mirefen, the Onslaught Dungeon has ten Floors where the player can battle monsters to win chests containing gauntlet Cores, Drops and/or Tomes. If the player fails a Floor, they may retry for a set amount of Gems that increases per Floor.

The Dungeon refreshes every day at midnight. If the player wishes to start over, it can be done at least 10 minutes before the daily refresh for 100 gems on the first refresh, and 200 gems on the second.

Only one version of the Onslaught may be attempted per day. That is, if the player has completed any floor of the Dark Onslaught, they cannot participate in the Onslaught Dungeon until the Dungeons reset the next day, or if the player chooses to reset their current run using Gems.

Hero Selection

The player is required to select 2 Heroes from their current hero pool on each Floor. After completing a Floor, the selected heroes are marked as exhausted and cannot be used on the next Floors.

Floor Modifier

Floor 2 example with champion boost modifier

Each Floor has a random modifier which boosts heroes' power damage by 50% for a certain Alignment (Valiant, Champion, Maverick, etc). For example, a Floor with a Champion boost modifier allows any Champion Heroes selected (such as Helmar and Zoe) to deal 50% more damage to enemies, but the boost won't apply to selected Heroes with other Alignments.

More than 1 Floor may have the same Floor modifier.

Enemies

Each Floor has a Commander, whom the Knight must defeat to advance to the next Floor. Defeating the Commander will immediately win the battle.

Each Commander can summon two different kinds of Side Monsters, and can summon up to 2 of the same Side Monster each turn, depending on room available. They can summon up to 12 in total, including 2 at the start of the battle. If the Commander runs out of summons, or there is no more room for summons, the Commander will attack instead.

Each Floor's Commander and summons have a level equal to the player's Knight level, up until they reach a maximum level. Each floor's maximum is 4 more than the last, except for the final floor which caps at 50 instead of 52.

Trivia

  • Each Onslaught Commander possesses a red Summoning Gem somewhere in or on their body. This is what allows them to summon Monsters into battle.
    • These gems appear similar to the gem embedded in each of the Gauntlets, which serves a similar Summoning function, though the Onslaught Commander's gems have a limited use.
    • This may suggest that the Monsters summoned by the Commanders are not normal Monsters, but spirits or constructs similar to them.
      • This is supported by the fact that the monsters disappear after the Commander is defeated, rather than running away like in other battles
      • In addition, summoned Monsters do not count towards progression of defeating any kind of monster for Quests.
