Abyssal Mist

Abyssal Mist is an upcoming Special Event in Knighthood. It was announced on August 24, 2023.
Players enter the Sacred Portal and battle Undead-type Shalkex members and Gagan Cultist enemies to earn Event Points, which grant rewards at certain amounts. Side Stories and Roaming Monsters specific to Abyssal Mist provide additional Event Points and other rewards.
The Abyssal Mist Heroes are Doceo and Lucius.
Forbidden Knowledge
Greetings, brave Knights!
In the distant past there were a race named the Shalkex, a society of scholars dedicated to understanding all of life's secrets. With access to magic and their early discovery of steam power, the Shalkex could dedicate themselves to study without worrying about their other needs. One of the Shalkex named Zezha was an enthusiastic but unusually slow study. Frustrated that her elders had so much to teach, but limited time to do so, she began to research ways to fix this problem. After years of experimentation, she managed to make contact with a cosmic being that offered her all the knowledge of the Shalkex, and more.
Skeptical at first, she took her findings to the Shalkex council. The being's offer was simple. It would allow the Shalkex to share their thoughts instantly. The council deliberated but eventually agreed. After all, this would let all Shalkex dedicate their time to seeking only new knowledge, would it not? With her peoples' agreement, Zezha made contact once more.
With their covenant complete, the cosmic being, V'eggahr. entered the Shalkex's world from the Abyss. A transformative mist followed, washing over the Shalkex's world and transforming them into Undead monstrosities.
True to its word, V'eggarh united the Shalkex into a single will... its own.

The Scholar and the Sneak
The Abyssal Covenant has claimed many worlds, but even in victory there are two names their forces fear.
Doceo was from Neorxan, a world of great beauty and innovation. Doceo was a social pariah due to studying magic in a world of technology. Still, they studied their craft at length in order to help a society that didn't accept their ways. When the Covenant came it was Doceo's spells that held the Undead back the longest, preventing Doceo's foes from using magic, or stunning them completely.
Lucius was a Kolasi, a race born with the ability to draw power from their surroundings. When the Abyssal Covenant attacked, Lucius and his people fought back with unmatched vigor. Lucius would wait on the sidelines of each battle, ambushing the enemy where they were weakest. This led to him absorbing less of the Abyssal Covenant's energy than his allies, leaving him empowered, but not corrupted, when the Kolasi finally fell to V'eggahr's minions.
Doceo will be available on the Event Reward Track, and Lucius can be found in the Abyssal Mist Event Chest.
Special Monsters
Most Monsters in Abyssal Mist can gain the 
Stealth Status. This prevents them from taking damage from Weapon or Punch attacks, though Hero Powers will still do damage. In addition, if enemies attack while afflicted with the 
Sacrifice Status, they will do extra damage and be removed from the battle, negating any Event Points gained for that enemy,
List of Special Monsters
- Zezha: Roaming Monster spawning every four hours in the furthest two regions the player has unlocked so far.
- If a player hasn't unlocked the conquest node Zezha spawns in a region yet, she will only spawn in the previous region
- Gelkar: Portal Boss. Grants the Sacrifice effect to other enemies, which grants them a damage boost and removes them from the battle afterwards.
- Abyssal Warlock: A magic wielder who lurks in the background.
- Abyssal Zealot: A frontline enemy who attacks with blades.
- The Shade of V'eggarh: Guild Boss that can be summoned by all guilds. 5000 Event Points are rewarded upon defeat, along with usual guild boss rewards.
Portal Battle Mode
When the Portal is open (every weekend, from Friday afternoon to Monday morning UTC), players will be able to choose from up to five portal levels, in relation to their current Knight level. Higher portal levels add a percentage of Event Points along with base amounts.

- Level 15: +20% extra points
- Level 25: +50% extra points
- Level 35: +100% extra points
- Level 45: +200% extra points
- Level 55: +300% extra points
Event Points in this mode are earned based on the amount and type of enemies defeated, regardless of winning or losing.

Players are given three free attempts per day until the event ends. Once all attempts are used, three additional attempts may be purchased for 120 Gems. Purchasing the Event Pass gives another three free daily attempts for a total of 6 per day.
Event Side Stories
Every Friday, a new set of Side Quests related to Abyssal Mist will be available for the player to complete. These Side Stories expire at the end of the event if incomplete.
Weekly Side Stories
On the first weekend, the player will need to complete some earlier stories before the rest of Week 1 Side Stories appear. After this, each subsequent weekend only requires that the previous week's stories have been completed.

Reward Track
Event Points contribute to unlocking rewards a player may get. Special Edition items are no longer available after the event ends. A second rewards tree is unlocked for those who purchase the Premium Pass. Rewards include Skins, Gold, Chests, Shards of Doceo, Shard Dust, Strong vs Undead, Cult, and Ranged Equipment, and various Customization items.
