Armor
Armor is a form of Equipment that gives the Knight extra protection against attacks and Status Effects, as well as self-damaging Hero powers, by increasing their Armor Value. It is the first line of defense against most forms of damage, and the Knight's Armor value is typically much higher than their Health value.
There are 580 different armor pieces, grouped into 116 sets, that are currently available in Knighthood.
Weaknesses
Armor has a few main weaknesses:
- Monsters with the
Ranged damage type, which bypasses armor
- Heroes whose Power(s) ignore armor, such as Aeron and Dvalin
- The Poison Status Effect, which damages health directly
- The Acid Status Effect, which deals 50% more damage against Armor
Upgrading
- Main article: Equipment/Upgrading#Armor
All Armor can be Upgraded, giving them higher armor values and allowing the Knight to take more damage. After reaching a Level cap, all armor (with the exception of Common armor) can be Ranked Up to unlock a new Level cap. The current max level is Level 60 (Rank 5).
- As Common armor cannot be Ranked up, higher-rank Common armor must be purchased through various Armory Shops.
Set Bonus
With the exception of the Astellan Set, each armor set is assigned either a Light,
Heavy,
Magical or
Ranged armor bonus. These correspond with each Monster damage type, with the exception of Support.
Equipping at least 2 armor pieces of the same bonus reduces damage from corresponding damage types by 5% per armor piece, for a maximum of 25% damage reduction. The pieces do not have to be the same Rarity for this to apply.
Mythic Armor
Mythic Armor is not sorted into Strong Vs damage types, but rather a Strong Vs Monster type. This type can be changed with a Tuning Fork. Each piece of Mythic Armor will give an additive +10% damage resistance to that Monster type, per piece. This bonus is not shown in the Set Bonus area of the Knight Menu.
Armor Values
Each body type and rarity of armor has different armor values. These values are as follows:
Astellan Set
The starter Astellan Set of armor has lower Armor Values than other Common armor. It has no damage type resistance.
Astellan Set Values | |
---|---|
Type | Armor Values |
Helmet | 32-126 |
Shoulders | 19-76 |
Arms | 13-50 |
Body | 38-151 |
Legs | 25-101 |
Standard Values
Notes:
- Mythic armor starts at Rank 5
- For Common armor, the Adventurer set starts at Level 2. As such there is no value for Level 1 gear and the listed minimum value is for Level 2
- Values marked with an asterisk (*) are estimated based on the per-level progression but have not been confirmed.

Dismantling
Armor can be dismantled to receive one of a select set of Charms, based on the Strong Vs Family of the armor. The charm types available are shown in the confirmation window before dismantling.
- The rarity of the resulting charm will either be the same rarity or one rarity lower than the dismantled armor. For example, a Legendary chest piece will dismantle into either a Legendary or Epic charm.
- Any charms slotted into the dismantled armor are returned to the player's Inventory.
- Common Armor gives different charms per set, rather than per damage type.
Naming
Most Armor follows specific rules for naming different parts of armor based on set and type.
Type Naming
Each Strong vs Type of Armor has a specific set of names for each piece.
- The starting Astellan set follows the Light armor naming convention, even though it has no Strong Vs type
Strong Vs | Helmet | Shoulders | Arms | Body | Legs |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Light | Helm | Shawl | Sleeves | Tunic | Mukluks |
Heavy | Armet | Pauldrons | Vambraces | Breastplate | Greaves |
Magical | Helmet | Spaulders | Cuffs | Surcoat | Sabatons |
Ranged | Cervelliere | Wrap | Slips | Hauberk | Boots |
Set Naming
Armor is named as follows: Set-Rank-Type. For example, the Epic Magical Shoulders at Rank 2 are called the "Mawgan Gunnar's Spaulders."
- The names listed in quotations ("") replace the set name completely, e.g. the Legendary
Light Arms turn from "Bear Sleeves" to "Great Bear Sleeves" at Rank 5.
Special Event Armor
Past Special Events granted players limited edition sets of armor. These armor sets have the same damage values of their standard counterparts, but with different type naming. In addition, a special "Knighthood" set was sold as a deal to early players of the game.

Trivia
- Sabaton is the name for the part of a knight's armor that covers the foot. It comes from the French word saboter which means "to walk loudly or clumsily." It shares this root with the word sabotage.
- A cervelliere is a hemispherical, close-fitting cap made of steel or iron originally worn by medieval armies in the 12th century
- Mukluks refers to any soft boot typically worn for cold weather, and traditionally made of deerskin or seal skin. The word comes from an Inuit word for the Bearded Seal.
- A gambeson, or "arming doublet," is a double-padded defensive jacket similar to a quilt, densely stuffed with material such as scrap cloth or horse hair, and often containing fastenings for individual plates of armor if needed.
