Version 1.17.5

  • Dark Portal
    • The Dark Portal is a fast paced mini-event, offering a glimpse into a sinister alternate dimension. The first Dark Portal is set to open when Dark Tor ends.
    • Battle both new and familiar enemies
    • Earn Dark Fragments to spend in the Dark Portal shop, where you can buy a variety of exciting things, including past Event Skins
    • Progress along the Event Track for more rewards!
  • Karnheim Rebalancing
    • With Atlantica on the horizon, we felt it was time to rebalance the difficulty of the Karnheim enemies a little. We’ve toned down their health and damage, which will hopefully make Karnheim less terrifying for those just venturing into it, whilst also reducing the overall length of battles featuring these enemies.
    • This rebalance applies to wherever these enemies appear, so Expert Rift, Dark Onslaught and Karnheim’s Lost Knight will also be a little easier, as well as the ‘core’ Karnheim regional content.
  • Economy Rebalancing
    • An issue that’s been on our radar for a while has been chokepoints on players progressing their gear and Heroes. You may have already noticed that we increased the amount of Tellurian and Volcanite on many Hunts, and this update also sees:
    • Boosted Hero XP gain from Shrines
    • Boosted production rates from the Mirefen and White Peak Tellurian and Volcanite mines
    • The ability to not only convert lower rarity materials to higher rarity materials in Tyge’s Metalworks, but also to break down higher rarity materials into lower ones
    • A new Shop in Realm of Fire, ‘For Better Ore Worse’, which allows you to convert your Ores into different rarities.
  • Hero Rebalancing
    • We’ve tweaked a few Heroes! Firstly, we’ve made the following changes:
    • Armour-only heals will be increased, the heals provided by heroes that only affect armour are seen as worse than general heals, we are increasing the amount of armour they recover to give them more identity within Knighthood.
      • Pentatonix: Base Power - Fanfare
      • Wormwood: Base Power - Repair
    • Nijuro’s base power Awaken Blade healed and applied the focus status effect for 1 turn, being that he is the only hero with a status effect that works in this way we are buffing him to bring him in line with other heroes' status powers.
      • Nijuro: Base Power - Awaken Blade
    • Neko’s damage for her rage power Cat’s Cradle is dealing too little damage for a distributed damage power, we will be increasing the damage she does with her rage power to reflect the intended balance.
      • Neko: Rage Power - Cat’s Cradle
    • Column-based powers deal the same damage as powers that row-based powers deal although the maximum number of targets a column will hit is 2, because of this we have decided to increase the damage output for column-based powers with the except of Viktor, he is dealing the damage he should be with his base power.
      • Aeron: Base Power - Poison Arrows
      • Tara: Base Power - Furious Strike
      • Viktor’s is going to be receiving a minor rework inline with the other heroes' which have a star perk that boost minion damage, although Viktor will receive a change to his rage power. Viktor’s rage power will now apply regenerate and the focus status effect will be moved to his star perk.
    • We’ve also replaced the Max Star Perks that were focused on Minions, as it made them a bit too ‘niche’. We’ve replaced them with abilities that will hopefully give those Heroes a bit broader appeal across more game modes.
      • Balendu: Increased critical chance against Golem enemies 50%
      • Blaine: Increased critical chance against Goblin enemies 50%
      • Griz: Increased critical chance 30%
      • Geber: Chance to apply Weaken to target on Base Power
      • Grax: Chance to apply Poison to target on Base Power
      • Outis: Chance to apply Expose to target on Base Power
      • Pentatonix: Chance to apply Unfocus to all enemies on Rage Power
      • Viktor: Chance to apply Focus to the knight on Rage Power
  • Bug Fixes and Optimisations
    • We’ve raised the Fame cap, so current number one BANG | Jonny can continue his terrifying ascent!

    • Guild War leader chair now has its rotating chain working in the Guild Hall. However, on some devices this may initially appear chunkier than it should - leaving the guild hall and going back in should fix this.

  • And a few server fixes that recently went live:
    • Strong vs Demon Hero Chests will now contain Ayako and Mikazuki
    • Strong vs Golem Hero Chests will now contain Bayani

New Terms and Conditions added in-game.

Bug fixes include:

  • Fixes to the multi-buy functionality
  • Removal of the 'Open Now' button on Chests that have a multi-open bonus that could be acquired as part of a reward bundle (ie from Shrines and the Lost Knight).
  • Update to Zendesk, which should improve functionality of the in-game support system.

Tweaks include:

  • Doceo and Lucius have both received slight improvements - their Base Powers now buff for three turns instead of one.

Abyssal Mists

The Abyssal Covenant of the Shalkex want to indoctrinate you into their hive mind, and they’re not willing to take no for an answer! Featuring:

  • New enemies, including:
    • Abyssal Warlock, a magic wielder who lurks in the background.
    • Abyssal Zealot, who passionately furthers their cause via the medium of bladed objects.
    • Gelkar, the ruthless commander of Covenant’s Portal battalion.
    • Zezha, the calculating Covenant captain who roams the land looking for converts.
    • The Shade of V’eggarh, who will challenge your Guild at the Coliseum.
  • New Heroes, including:
    • Doceo, the Legendary Mage of Neorxan
    • Lucius, the crafty - and partially corrupted - Kolisan Rogue.
  • And naturally the great rewards you’d expect from an Event, including resources, gear, and themed customizations and Skins!

Quality of Life Fixes

  • Multibuy
    • Long-awaited, and finally here! You can now bulk-buy items from the various in-game Stores, including Ores, Forge Stones, Drops, Tomes, and Dust Chests!
  • Inbox to Codex
    • Previously, if you acquired a weapon or piece of armor for the first time and it went into your Inbox, it wouldn’t be added to your Codex until you’d claimed it and it went into your backpack. This meant that if you dismantled it in the Inbox, the Codex would have no record of it. This has now been changed that items in the Inbox are added to the Codex.

Bug Fixes and Tweaks

  • Gauntlet details card camera has been tweaked for better visibility when the text is up.
  • Assorted optimizations and fixes.
  • Support Tickets
    • Due to some changes in the Zendesk (our support ticket system) implementation, you may lose access to previously opened tickets. If that happens, please create a new ticket.

Guild Wars

Upcoming Guild Wars will see the introduction of an entirely new map layout, plus new node types!

  • The Wizard’s Tower gives a combat bonus to all forms of attack damage done by the members of the controlling Guild.
  • The Blacksmith gives an attack bonus to the weapon damage of the controlling Guild.
  • The Armory gives an attack bonus to the Gauntlet damage of the controlling Guild.
  • The Temple gives an attack bonus to the Hero damage of the controlling Guild.
  • Please note that not all node types will be present in all war maps at the same time!

Expert Rift

  • New layouts added, including a new (yet familiar…) final Boss

Bug fixes and tweaks

  • Krita’s base power wasn’t scaling correctly and was hitting for roughly double what it should at max level - this has now been fixed.
  • The particle effect for the Wrath of Eris sword skin now behaves itself.
  • Miscellaneous fixes and optimizations.

Hero’s Challenge

  • Hero’s Challenge will introduce a new game mode, allowing you to try out the featured Hero at their maximum Star potential! It also introduces:
    • The Hero’s Challenge Map: a map containing foes that the Featured Hero will be the ideal companion to go into battle with - and perhaps have the odd chat with!
    • The Challenge Track: a dual reward track containing Hero upgrade materials, Hero Charms, Charm Tools and more!
    • The Challenge Pass, granting you access to the Premium side of the Challenge Track
    • The Challenge Chest: a Hero Chest with a guaranteed 5x Shards of the Featured Hero when opened in batches of five.
  • Queen Krita: The first Hero’s Challenge introduces the famous monarch of days past, Queen Krita!

    • Base Power ‘Call to Arms’ hits all enemies on the front row with a chance to apply Expose, and fills Rage.

      • War Track Glory curve tweaked, so it’s easier for smaller guilds to get further along and get more rewards

      • Gold base reward decreased from 1000 to 200
      • Gold Mine collect frequency increased to every three hours (was previously every six hours)
      • Gem Mine base reward increased to 5 gems

Wintertide 2022 Wintertide is almost upon us, and with it, the now traditional Frosten Goblin invasion! As usual, expect:

Tweaks and Bug Fixes

  • Guild Wars
    • New map model
    • New PvE battles (Frosten Goblin, Troll, Demon and Cult)
    • Banner Nodes functionality has changed:
      • Legendary Hero Chests have been moved from being a Control Reward to a Hold Reward. The node will award Legendary Hero Chests every 20 hours they are held for. This is cumulative, so if your Guild holds the node for 12 hours then loses it, you just have to retake the node and hold it for another 8 hours for the Legendary Chest payout.
      • Glory has now switched to a Control Reward, and pays out 500 Glory.
      • Map connectors have changed, meaning that you’ll need to rework your strategy.
      • Unsuccessful attacks on a fortified node will now reduce the node’s fortification level.
      • Various stability fixes

Guild Wars

Guild Wars will introduce:

  • The War Map - a sprawling map containing many Nodes for your Guilds to battle for control over:
    • Guild Base - a node that will always belong to its initially assigned Guild.
    • Crossroads - a node that offers small reward, but is invaluable for reaching other parts of the Map.
    • Gem Mine - a node that generates Gems whilst your Guild controls it.
    • Gold Mine - a node that generates Gold whilst your Guild controls it.
    • Lumberyard - a node that generates Lumber whilst your Guild controls it.
    • Banner - a node that generates Glory whilst your Guild controls it.
    • Town - a node that generates Orders whilst your Guild controls it
    • Fortress - a Fortified node that makes its defenders hit harder
  • New currencies and resources:
    • Glory - the points you earn for taking control of a Node, and what Guild Wars are scored with.
    • Lumber - used to Fortify a Node, to make its defense stronger.
    • Orders - required to perform actions for the War:
      • Takeover - to battle for control over a Node.
      • Defend - to place your Knight on a Node, to defend against rival Guilds.
      • Fortify - to add Lumber to a Node, in order to make its defense stronger.
    • Laurels - used to contribute towards buying War-exclusive Communal Guild Relics for your Guild Hall.
    • Garlands - used to buy items from the new Quartermaster’s Lodge.
  • The Quartermaster’s Lodge - a new shop selling exclusive Skins and other goodies.
    • Contains the Obligator’s Armour Skins set
    • Contains the Obligator’s Weapons Skins
  • The War Track - a new two-tier reward track, containing Skins, Chests, currencies, and resources useful to your war effort.
  • Leaderboards - for keeping track of the War effort! War Activity Stream - added to your Guild Chat options, with toggle.

Bug Fixes and Tweaks

  • Increased Guild Chat message length from 100 to 240 characters.
  • Improvements to recommended Guild and player invite system.
  • Inactive Guild Leaders are now automatically demoted after 14 days, rather than 30.
  • Various fixes, optimisations and tweaks.

Inbox The new Inbox consolidates several features into one:

  • Reward Overflow

  • If you have any items already in your current overflow, these will be transferred to the new Inbox. Transferred items will have a 60 day expiry limit. New items going into the Inbox will have a 30 day expiry limit.

Karnheim Monster Cave A new cave has been discovered the Melgofer River, featuring new challenges!

Loadouts Loadouts allow you to save multiple gear set ups, and to switch between them quickly

    • Level scaling returned to Knight level in Onslaught Dungeons and Roaming Monsters. It will also be applied to the Trials of the Rift from 4th April.
    • Dark Onslaught’s later floors have been rebalanced to be a little easier. Please note that you may not immediately see these changes - you’ll see them when the Onslaught resets after the update has been released.
    • Increased the quantities of some lower rarity Roaming Monster Objective Rewards in Karnheim
    • Increased the Rank of armour and weapons available in some Realm of Fire and Karnheim Roaming Monster Chests
      • Realm of Fire Roaming Boss Chests now contain Rank 2 Rare and Epic weapons and armour, instead of Rank 1
      • Realm of Fire Elite Chests now contain Rank 2 Rare and Epic weapons and armour, instead of Rank 1
      • Realm of Fire Regular Roamer Chests now have a chance of dropping Rank 3+ Common weapons
      • Karnheim Roaming Boss Chests now contain Rank 3 Epics instead of Rank 1, and Rank 2 Legendaries instead of Rank 1.
      • Karnheim Regular Roamers now drop Rank 3 Rares and Epics instead of Rank 2, and Rank 2 Legendaries instead of Rank 1.
    • Added Prime Materials to Tyge’s Metalworks Material Exchange
    • Added blue and yellow as a Guild Colours option
    • Added a vertical split 50/50 pattern as a Guild Pattern option
    • Added a blank icon slot as a Guild Icon option

Version 1.12.1

  • Issue where Threat Level in the Normal Rift could drop below the minimum of zero has been fixed.
  • Issues involving the Dark Tor eye customisation 'Baphomet’s Glare' have been resolved. These included the eyes not displaying correctly on leaderboard and roster portraits.
  • The missing dismantle button has returned to the Rewards Overflow.
  • Crash caused by distilling the last of a set of potions or elixirs has now been fixed.

Rewards Overflow has been optimised, reducing lag for those with a large amount of items stored there.

Expert Rift

Dark forces are at work and have revealed a new Trials of the Rift. Pitched at Expert difficulty, the Expert Rift has:

  • New layouts
  • New rewards
  • New Traps
  • New treasures
  • Five new bosses
  • Three new Minions
  • There’s also an increase in the Rift Power cap, so get ready to lob your unwanted gear at the Lady of the Lake!

Rift Raiding

When your Rift Power far exceeds the Threat Level, you will be able to Raid standard Rift Battles in both Normal and Expert. Rewards are unchanged, but Raiding will not earn Rift Power or any Minions that may be present.

Dark Tor 2022

The Inquisition are back and ready for another attempt to convert all to the Cult of Glashtyn. The proud winner of our community vote, Garron, is your Event Hero of choice - and you’ll see him alongside:

  • New Armour Skins
  • New Weapon Skins
  • New customisations

Morphing Tweaks

We’ve also made some changes to Morphing, which will hopefully make it more accessible to newer players:

  • The ability to apply Skins is now possible at a much earlier level - once the player has defeated Gorbash (Skin crafting is still only available via the Morpharium in Mirefen).
  • You can now apply Skins directly to an item from the Knight screen.
  • The Morpharium has had a minor layout tweak as its no longer the primary place

Bug fixes and Tweaks

  • Drops of Patience added to the Guild Shop
  • Wider range of Legendary and Unique Hero Charms added to Normal Rift
  • Amendments to various FAQs

Tweaks to Karnheim Roaming Monsters:

  • Level range for regular Roamers has been reduced from 46 - 60 to 46 - 55
  • Level range for Roaming Bosses has been reduced from 50 - 60 to 46 - 55
  • Level range for The Lost Knight in Karnheim has been reduced from 46 - 60 to 46 - 55
  • Level range for the Wintertide Roamers in Karnheim have been reduced from 46 - 60 to 45 - 55
  • Some formations have been tweaked to be a little easier, both for the standard Karnheim Roamers and Bosses, and the Wintertide Roamers
  • Blue Gauntlet Cores have been removed from the regular Roamers's Objective Reward pool, and replaced with an increased Gold reward
  • Drops of Patience have been added into the Objective Completion Bonus Reward pool for regular Roamers
  • Drops of Patience have been added into the Objective Completion Bonus Reward pool for Roaming Bosses
  • Drops of Patience have been added into the Objective Reward pool for Roaming Bosses.

Tweaks to difficulty scaling

  • Tweak to difficulty scaling on Roaming Monsters, Dark Onslaught, Rift, etc - instead of just looking at your Knight level, it will also factor in the highest level of Heroes and gear that you possess. This means that if your Knight level has managed to massively outstrip your Heroes and gear level, you can still have a fair pop at the grindable content.

  • Roaming Monsters

  • Hunts
    • Hunts now have a cap on the number of times they can be completed within a set time period.
    • Hunts now drop two sets of specific loot: one type of Hero shard, and one type of weapon upgrade material. Each hero will only be available on a single hunt (though the expert version will also drop the same hero’s shards)
    • Hunts can now be ‘Raided’ - instantly completed with one button press. This option is only available once a Hunt has been three starred, and does not contribute to task progress.
  • Monster Cave
    • Monster Caves now have a progression system, allowing the player to unlock harder difficulties for greater rewards
    • Modifiers have been removed from the Monster Caves
    • All Monster Caves now give the same type of Soul as currency, with harder caves giving a greater amount
  • Prepare Screen
    • The Prepare Screen has been added to modes such as Onslaught, Versus Arena and the Monster Caves.
    • Equip screen can be accessed from the Prepare screen, allowing for changing of armour, gauntlet and potions.
    • Hint button offers tips on how to defeat the battle ahead.
  • Versus Arena
    • Ability to choose opponent from a selection added
