Varanus
"The brother of Saha, Varanus is the muscle of the two. Feared by friend and foe alike, Varanus has an unfortunate reputation for eating those that displease him."
Varanus is one of the Roaming Monsters found throughout the lands of Knighthood. He is a Heavy Outlaw type Monster, a large bipedal Saurian wearing silver and green armored clothing and an ornate metal face mask.
Where to Find
Varanus only appears during the 
Lost Sands Special Event. He will spawn every 2 hours, alternating between the most recent region the player has unlocked and the previous region, as long as the appropriate Conquest has been completed:
- Highgard: WIP
- Mirefen: WIP
- White Peak: Skald's Split
- Realm of Fire: Troias Gatehouse
Combat
Varanus fights like a standard Roaming Monster, with his power, Flame Tongue, causing Burn on hit. He begins the round with either the Focus, Haste, or Regenerate effect applied for 3 turns.
Rewards
Upon defeat, Varanus gives ?-340 Event Points depending on which region he is fought in.

- "Varanus" is the name given to the genus of Monitor Lizards, and this name may be specifically referring to the Varanus niloticus, or Nile Lizard, as the Saurian have many Egyptian references in their naming conventions.
