- "Never Mind the Pollocks" name and description is a reference to an album by the Sex Pistols.
- The Fleur de Lys is a commonly used symbol in European heraldry, most often associated with France.
- The triquetra is a commonly used symbol in European design, associated mainly with post-Roman British Isles and Celtic culture.
- "Testudo" is a reference to the Testudo formation, a tactic in Ancient Roman warfare wherein soldiers would interlock their shields to form a protective "shell" around the unit.
- The troll head used in "Trophy of the Troll" is the head of Thunk Skullsmasher
