"You have all grown soft and weak. None of you are worthy to face the reckoning."
― Lord Karnon

Lord Karnon (also referred to as simply Karnon) is the secondary antagonist of Knighthood. He is the fifth and final Rage Knight the player encounters, and serves as the Knight Trial for Realm of Fire. He utilizes Cladis and Geber in combat.

Story

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Karnon was a member of The Order of Rage, a formerly world-spread Order of Knights who used their battle prowess and the power of their Gauntlets to keep the peace in the land of Knighthood.

In his early years in the Order, he pronounced his goal to rid the Realm of Fire of the Infernal Demons that plagued the Realm of Fire. He succeeded in this goal, becoming leader of the Order, and ruled the land for a while.

At some point, Karnon was exposed to the Dark Ones, a group of extra-dimensional beings spreading corruption throughout the lands. Enticed by their power, he allowed their corruption to spread through him into the other regions, beginning a culling of the weak by pitting them against the Dark Ones' forces. He also corrupted the other Rage Knights (except for Sir Drakeson) into inciting chaos and isolation. He used all of this to buy time to build a portal to The Dark One's land at the peak of Mount Nexus, attempting to allow the Dark Ones to invade the lands directly.

When the player Knight and Drakeson first encounter Karnon at The Broken Pass, they are joined by Lord Highgard, Tirna Fika, and Lady Ardella Rhonwen, who have been rallied by the Knight's fighting spirit to confront Karnon and put an end to his rule. Karnon goads them into battle, and they chase him up Mount Nexus, leaving the player Knight behind.

Upon reaching the peak, the player Knight finds that Karnon has easily defeated all the other Rage Knights, and is eager to see the player Knight combat the dark forces that will emerge from the portal once it is complete. In a final act of heroics, Drakeson uses the power of his Gauntlet to destabilize the portal, stopping it from fully activating and vanishing from view. Furious, Karnon battles the Knight himself.

Upon defeat, Karnon retreats through the portal before it closes completely, warning the Knight that they have only delayed the reckoning, not defeated it.
